Alice Fisher

November 13, 1925 — February 25, 2014

Well respected artist, championship golfer, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend... Age 88 of Franklin, Tennessee formerly of Paducah, KY., passed on February 25, 2014 having succumbed to her injuries following a car accident. A native Kentuckian Mrs. Fisher was born November 13, 1925 in Paducah.

Avid golfer, Mrs. Fisher won multiple championships from the 1960's until the 1980's when arthritis prevented her from gripping the clubs. A member of Rolling Hills Country Club, Paducah Country Club, and multiple women's golf associations she was also Ladies Tri-State Champion of Kentucky, Illinois and Missouri.

Alice is the example of when 'God closes a door, he opens a window', putting down her golf clubs when her swing was no longer accurate; she picked up an artist brush and pastels. Working primarily in acrylic, oil, pastels, graphite, and watercolor, her work is noted as "taking common objects as subject matter and elevating them to a higher level through her presentation."

A member of Paducah Area Painters Alliance in Kentucky, she was also currently a member of the Art Council of Williamson County, Women Artist of Middle Tennessee, the Tennessee Art League, and the Martin Center. Her paintings can be found in residences around the United States and has had works published in the "American Artist", Paducah Community Literary Journal and the Paducah Sun Newspaper.
