Well done thy good and faithful servant, were the words Alice Mae Reed heard when her Lord called her home on September 8, 2007 at 6:30 p.m. from the Superior Care Home.
Alice will always be remembered by her children as the one who would sing to them and tell them the goodness of Jesus. She was a strong worker and made her whole family proud of her accomplishments.
Mrs. Reed was a very active member of Southland Baptist Temple till her illness. She was a native of Enid, Okl. And she Served her country in World War II in the United States as a Naval Nurse.
Surviving are four daughters: Janis Smith (Junior), Linda Miller (William), Dee'Dee Green (Donald) all of Paducah and Susan Boyd (Mike) of Gilbertsville, Ky. One stepson Gerry Reed (Bonnie) of Boaz, Ky. One brother Tommy Phillips of Houston Tx. And two sisters Carolyn Smith of Smithland, Ky. and Pat Murders of Woodville, Tx. Nine grandchildren, 14 Great Grandchildren and 2 Great great Grandchildren. A host of friends and many others who called her Mom.
She was preceded in death by her parents Clarence Taylor and Ester Hunt Taylor. And a loving daughter Vicky Green.
Funeral Services will be at 1:00 P.M. Tuesday September 11, 2007 at the Southland Baptist Temple with the Revs. Harold Council, Jimmy Franks and Topper Council officiating. Burial will follow in the Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. Friends may call at the Keeling Family Funeral Home, 2410 Jackson St. From 5:00 P.M. till 8:00 P.M. Monday September 10, 2007, and at the Church on Tuesday from 10:00 till funeral hour. Serving as pallbearers will be Gary and Tony Boyd, Jason Wallace, Christian Peck, Todd Miller and Gerry Taylor.
