Alton Ross

March 20, 1927 — April 18, 2014

Alton Ross, 87, of Lone Oak, passed away on Good Friday, April 18, 2014 at Baptist Health in Paducah. He
graduated from the Bowling Green College of Commerce in 1949. Mr. Ross was a lifelong member of Lone Oak First Baptist Church where he had served as an usher for many years. He was a strong "behind the scenes" supporter of many church activities. He retired after 34 years as an operator and electrician from Union Carbide/USEC. He was a World War II Veteran, proudly serving in the US Army.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Anna Lee Galloway Ross of Lone Oak; one son, Stephen A. Ross of Lexington, KY; one daughter, Jennifer (Ken) Ross Sauer of Cleveland, OH; one grandchild, Tera (Kjell) Sumpter Anslokken and three great-grandchildren, Emma, Lily, and Hannah Anslokken, all of Avon Lake, OH.

Alton was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Gertrude Nicholson Ross and two brothers, Arden Ross and Allen Ross.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00AM Monday, April 21, 2014 at Lone Oak First Baptist Church with Dr. Dan Summerlin and Rev. Mike Williams officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens in Paducah.

Friends may call from 9:30AM until the funeral hour on Monday, April 21, 2014 at Lone Oak First Baptist
Church.

Serving as pallbearers will be: Danny Keeling, Nicki Keeling, Tony Keeling, Dwight Peyton, Jeff Reed, Steve Warren, and Tommy Warren. Honorary pallbearers are: Kjell Anslokken, Billy Ray Reed, and Mark Thompson. The family would like to thank all of his caregivers, at Baptist Health, Lourdes Home Healthcare, and Parkview Rehab Center.
