Barbara Nell Chappell Hough, age 90, of Paducah, Kentucky passed away on Sunday, January 3, 2016 at Superior Care Home. Barbara Nell was born to Frank and Delaia Sale Chappell in Paducah on January 11, 1925. She graduated from Augusta Tilghman High School and Draughon's Business School. In 1946, she married Ed Hough and moved to Memphis, Tennessee. She worked for Union Beauty Supply there.
In 1955, Barbara, Ed and their two daughters moved to Paducah. She and Ed bought Heil Beauty Supply soon after and Barbara became the vice-President of the company helping Ed make it into one of the largest beauty supply companies in the country.
Barbara was involved in many church, social, and civic organizations. She was a life-long member of First Christian Church, past President of the Christian Women's Fellowship and past President of Group 1. She served on the Civic Beautification Board, member of Dogwood Garden Club and was a Dutchess of Paducah. She was an excellent cook and enjoyed making her families favorite dishes. She loved to play golf and was a member of the Paducah Country Club Golf Association for many years. She and Ed enjoyed traveling, reading, spending time at their home in Florida, and being with their daughters and their families.
She is survived by daughters, Pamela (George) Boland and Renee (Steve) Tilley of Paducah; grandchildren, Reid Boland of Boca Raton, Florida, Whitney Boland of Gardiner, New York, Amy (Matt) Lozier of Ft. Thomas, Kentucky and Drew Martin of Louisville, Kentucky; step grandchildren, Chris (Sarah) Tilley, Jon (Lauren) Tilley and Jennifer Tilley all of Louisville, Kentucky; great grandchildren, Oliver Lozier and Georgia Lozier of Ft. Thomas, Kentucky.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ed Hough and her parents.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, January 7, 2016 at the Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at the Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah.
