Billy Joe "Bill" Williams, 89, of Paducah, KY and Estero, FL, passed away Tuesday, June 23, 2016 at Hope Hospice House in Bonita Springs, Florida.
Bill was born in Paducah, KY on May 20, 1927 to Joe and Mable Wilkerson Williams. He graduated from Paducah Tilghman High School and attended Murray State University. He was proud to have served for two years in the United States Marine Corps. After the service, Bill began his forty-one year employment eventually serving as Branch Manager with Whayne Supply Company. He was an active member of Broadway United Methodist Church, Rotary Club of Paducah, and Toastmasters of Paducah.
His interests were reading, playing tennis, riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle, and spending winters in Florida. He was a very loving and caring husband.
He is survived by his wife of thirty five years, Phyllis Walden Stewart Williams; daughters, Linda Chrystal of Tampa, FL and Sheryl Williams of Louisville, KY; son, Larry Stewart and wife Janet of Franklin, TN; grandsons, Dr. Mark Reynolds and wife Jill of Greensboro, NC and Brock Stewart and wife Katie of Franklin, TN; granddaughters, Maci Love of Scottsboro, AZ and Brittany Morgan and husband Scott of Nashville, TN; and five great-grandchildren.
Memorial services to celebrate Bill's life will be held at Broadway United Methodist Church on Tuesday, July 5, 2016 at 11am, officiated by Rev. Joe Beal and Bill's nephew, Dr. Ken Meyers. Visititation will begin at 9:30 Tuesday at the church.
