Carlene Mason

Carlene Mason, 99, of Owensboro, passed away on Saturday, January 12, 2019 while in rehabilitation at Signature Healthcare---Hillcrest Nursing Home. She was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Randall Mason in 1987. After his death, Carlene moved from Graves County, KY to Owensboro and dedicated her later years to volunteering at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital and in the Senior Adult Ministry of First Baptist Church.

Surviving are two daughters, Ellen Graden and husband Hank of Raleigh, N.C. and Ruth Gillaspie and husband Ray of Owensboro, four grandchildren, Paige Bolton (Anthony) of Xenia, Ohio, Eric Gillaspie (Alison) of Lexington, Lauren Garrison of Fuquay-Varina, N.C., and Andrea Borregard (Brooke) of Owensboro, and eight great-grandchildren.

The funeral service for Carlene will be 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, January 15, at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. A private graveside service will be in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens in Paducah. Visitation will begin at 9:00 A.M. Tuesday at the funeral home.

The family asks that memorial contributions be made to Sozo Children, 4 41st Street South, Birmingham, Alabama 35222. Carlene maintained a loving relationship with members of the children's choir from this Ugandan Organization after they were guests in her home on two different occasions.
