Charles Rayl

August 22, 1925 — March 19, 2010

Charles Rayl, age 84, of Paducah, passed away at 1:30 p.m. Friday, March 19, 2010, at Western Baptist Hospital.
Mr. Rayl was a retired salesman for Petter Supply Co. He was a member of Arcadia United Methodist Church, the church his father, Rev. C.H. Rayl designed, built and pastored. He was a former Sunday School Teacher and served faithfully in many capacities of the church. Mr. Rayl's hobbies included woodworking and furniture making, collecting antiques and spending time with his family camping and fishing.
Mr. Rayl is survived by his wife of 56 years, Ann Buchanan Rayl; and three daughters, Marcia Ann Smartt and husband, Stan of Sevierville, TN, Vicky Lynn Quertermous and husband, Steve of Paducah and Mary Katherine Paschall and husband, Kevin of Paducah. He leaves behind three grandchildren, Grant Quertermous and wife, Katie of Charlottesville, VA, Cliff Paschall and wife, Natalie of Paducah and Annie Paschall Lester and husband, Cary of Lexington; two sisters, Ruth Smith of Florida and Grace Lett of Virginia; and several nieces and a nephew.
Mr. Charles Rayl was preceded in death by his parents, Rev. C.H. and Bessie Julia Kirk Rayl; and a brother, Dr. John Rayl.
Funeral services for Mr. Rayl will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 22, 2010, at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah with Dr. Paul Mullikin officiating and burial in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.
Friends may call between 5:00-8:00 p.m. Sunday at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah.
