Daisy McDaniel

Daisy T. McDaniel, 71, of Smithland passed away peacefully at her home at 8:29 p.m. Wednesday, March 23, 2011.

Mrs. McDaniel was retired from Bell South. Since retirement she was dedicated to her grandchildren and loved to paint, play piano and volunteer where needed at church. She was a member of Telephone Pioneers of America and she attended Rosebower Baptist Church.

She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Jerry Don McDaniel; two sons, Jerry Ray McDaniel and wife Wendy of Reidland and Sandy Don McDaniel and wife Charlene of Reidland; one daughter, Myrna Meadows and husband Brian of Reidland; three sisters, Alta Presson of Lone Oak, Luda Johnson of Reidland and Annie Cox of Front Royal, Va.; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by one daughter, Glenda; her parents, Terry Lee Taylor and Grace Thompson Taylor; two sisters; and three brothers.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 26, 2011, at Hughes Funeral Home of Paducah with Bro. Kenneth Puckett and Bro. Paul Hatcher officiating. Entombment will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Jerry Ray McDaniel, Sandy McDaniel, Sandy McDaniel II, Terry Taylor, Hal Burnett, Jesse Rogers and Jack Johnson.

Visitation will be from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Friday, March 25, 2011, at the funeral home.
