David Peyton

April 30, 1945 — June 17, 2013

David E. "Race" Peyton, 68, of Paducah died Monday, June 17, 2013, at 1:30 a.m. at his residence.

David was of Baptist faith, a member of IBEW Local #816, former electrician lineman with Paducah Power. David was a 1963 graduate of Heath High School and a U.S. Army veteran. He was an avid St. Louis Cardinal fan and a U.K. "Big Blue" Basketball fan. David enjoyed boating, camping, motorcycle riding and enjoyed raising a garden.

Survivors include his wife, Connie Moore Peyton; two daughters, Jenny Ann Thomas and husband, Randy of Gilbertsville, Ky., Joey Amanda Finnell and husband, Charles Alan of Boaz, Ky.; one son, Jamey Peyton and wife, Paula of West Paducah; one stepdaughter, April Dawn Finney of Paducah, Ky.; one brother, Jack William Peyton and wife Donna, of Benton, Ky.; seven grandchildren, J P Peyton, Audrey Blair Peyton, Caitlin Marie Jones, Blake Roettger, Michael Lynn Thomas, James Alan Finnell and Taylor Glenn Finnell; two great-grandchildren, Jaxx Edward Jones and Gavin Wyatt Thomas; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Elwood Peyton and Johnie Willie Potter Peyton; and one sister, Wanda Gayle Peyton Harmon.

Graveside services will be held Thursday, June 20, 2013, at 10:00 a.m. at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens with Rev. David Kelly officiating.

Friends may call on Wednesday, June 19, 2013, after 5:00 p.m. at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah.
