Graveside services with military rites for the Rev. Elmer Ira Mathis, 93, of Paducah will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. The Rev. Bill Ogden will officiate.
Mr. Mathis died at 2:45 p.m. Monday at his home.
A U.S. Army veteran of World War II, he was a retired minister and a retired truck driver for McLean Trucking. Mr. Mathis was a charter member of Bethel Baptist Church and a 50-year member of Woodmen of the World. He was a native of Paducah.
Surviving are several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Sullivan Mathis; six sisters; and one brother. His parents were Ira and Birdie Tolly Mathis.
Friends may call from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Thursday at Keeling Family Funeral Home.
