Emma Sullenger

April 17, 1921 — December 2, 2010

Emma Lou Hill Sullenger, age 89, of Paducah passed away Thursday, December 2, 2010, at Parkview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Graveside services for Emma will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, December 4, 2010, at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens with Rev. Ben Boone officiating.

She was born on April 17, 1921, to Henry Boone and Louisa Lee Nichols Hill.

Emma was of the Cumberland Presbyterian faith; she formerly worked in retail sales at Paducah Dry Goods and was an employee of the Paducah Shoe Factory.

She is survived by her children, Lou Ann Newman and husband, Mark, of Paducah and Dan W. Sullenger and wife, Nancy, of Mt. Juliet, Tenn.; four grandchildren, Wendi Hales and husband, Ryan, Amy Brazzell and husband, Ben, Chris Sullenger and Blair Sullenger; five great-grandchildren, Campbell and Austin Brazzell, Mia Hales, Mylie and Gavin Sullenger; one brother, Brant Hill and wife Jesse of Florida; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Emma was preceded in death by her husband of 41 years, Thomas Jewell Sullenger; three sisters, Dorothy Maupin, Ruth Edwards and Alice Harper; and six brothers, Woodrow, Coleman, James, Eric, Burell and Wade Hill.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to: Lone Oak United Methodist Church, In Honor of Emma Sullenger, 3835 Old U.S. Highway 45, Paducah, KY 42003.

Visitation for Emma will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, December 4, 2010, at the Lone Oak Chapel of Milner and Orr.
