Evelyn Wilson, age 81, of Paducah passed away Monday, January 31, 2011, at 7:55 p.m. at the Southgate Health Care Center in Metropolis, Ill.
Mrs. Wilson was a native of McCracken County, Ky. She attended Farley Elementary School and graduated from Reidland High School as an honor student. She also was a graduate of Draughon's Business College and worked as Secretary for Southern Textile Machinery Company for 30 years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Paducah.
She is survived by one stepdaughter, Linda K. Hall; three sisters, Mildred Hayes, Rose Lawrence, and Verna Horning; five nieces; and two nephews; and one stepgranddaughter.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James H. Wilson; one sister; and four brothers. Her parents were James Noah Dick and Hearldie Carter Dick.
Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday, February 6, 2011, in the Chapel of the Woodlawn Memorial Gardens with Daniel Durrett officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial. There will be no public visitation.
