Fred G. Copeland, 79, of Paducah passed away at 10:10 PM Monday, March 21, 2016 at Parkview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center of Paducah.
Mr. Copeland retired from USEC as an electrician and was of the Baptist faith, a veteran of the Air Force, a Past Master of the Masonic Lodge #117 of Elgin, IL., member of Scottish Rites of Chicago, IL. for 50 years, Tebala Temple Shriners of Rockford, IL., and American Legion Post 31 of Paducah. Fred was also an avid UK Basketball fan and liked to shoot pool.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Cora Copeland of Paducah; one daughter, Pamela D. Copeland of Paducah; one brother, Roy Copeland and wife Sandy Copeland of Sebring, FL., several nieces and nephews; and his special friends at the Senior Citizen Center.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Noble B. Copeland and Alice (Slayden) Copeland; one brother, Jimmy Copeland Sr. and wife Jean Copeland.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Friday, March 25, 2016 at Hughes Funeral Home of Paducah with Pastor Jim Wright officiating. Burial with Full Military Honors will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM Thursday, March 24, 2016 with a Masonic Service held at 7:00 PM at the funeral home.
