George William Neuhausel, 81, of Paducah and Gilbertsville, KY (Kentucky Lake), died at 12:28 p.m., Wednesday, June 25, 2014, at Superior Care Home, Paducah. He was born in Bandana, KY, September 2, 1932, to George Henry and Nina Alberta Jones Neuhausel.
George was a 1950 graduate of Blandville High School where he played basketball, was the class valedictorian and later attended Murray State College. He was an Air Force veteran who served during the Korean War in French Morocco and various places in the United States. George was a retired construction superintendent for Lucas and Sons Construction, Inc., Calvert City, KY. He was a faithful member of Twelve Oaks Baptist Church where he was a deacon emeritus, taught Sunday School for over 40 years and served as chairman or a member of many committees, including co-chairman of the building committee. His love for fishing was legendary as was his fish frys that were enjoyed by family and friends. He was an avid small game hunter and a UK Wildcats fan.
George was preceded in death by his parents and one infant sister, Margaret Anne Neuhausel.
Surviving him are his wife of 46 years, Janet Ivana Clayton Neuhausel, Paducah; two daughters, Rhonda Elaine Neuhausel Doores (Lynn), Sedalia, and Patti Gail Neuhausel Richmond, Mayfield; two granddaughters, three great grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter.
Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 28, 2014, with a celebration of life service to follow at 2 p.m. at Twelve Oaks Baptist Church, 2110 New Holt Road, Paducah, with Rev. Louis Brinker and Rev. Brandt Lyon officiating. Entombment will be at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.
