Geraldine Mae Hall Coons, 84, of Paducah, passed away Tuesday, November 19, 2013, at 10:59 p.m. at the home of her daughter, Anna Elkins, in Benton.
Geraldine was born June 2, 1929 in Birdsville, Ky., to the late Roy and Ora Hall. She was baptized as a Jehovah Witness. During her working years, she was employed with the Paducah Shirt Company and The Florsheim Shoe Factory. After retirement she became an avid quilter, creating many beautiful quilts. She will be remembered as one of the kindest and most caring persons you could ever meet.
She is survived by her daughters, Anna Elkins and husband Ted, of Benton and Peggy Richards and husband David of Melber; her sister, Maggie Edmonds and husband Bill of Smithland; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband of forty-five years, Albert J. Coons; her parents, Roy Hall and Ora Mae Carrol Hall; four sisters; and one brother.
A funeral service is scheduled for Saturday, November 23, 2013, at 11 a.m. at Lone Oak Chapel of Milner & Orr Funeral Homes. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. The Revs. Encil Edmonds and Mike Hunt will officiate.
Friends may call on the family Friday, November 22, 2013, from 5-7 p.m. at the Lone Oak Chapel of Milner & Orr Funeral Homes.
