Graveside services for James E. Butler, 79, of Paducah will be held Wednesday at 1 p.m. at Woodlawn Memorial Garden Chapel. Rev. Ben Boone will officiate.
Mr. Butler died Sunday, November 9, 2008, at Western Baptist Hospital.
He was born in Effingham, Ill., on April 24, 1929, to the late Ellis L. and Ruth Mascher Butler. He retired as a Shift Engineer at T.V.A., served in the United States Army during the Korean War, was a member of Lone Oak United Methodist Church, and was a member of I.B.E.W. for over 20 years.
James is survived by his wife of 55 years, Dorothy Purchase Butler; a daughter, Sheree Goodman, and husband Harry, of Baltimore, Md.; a son, James Michael Butler, and wife Caron, of Greenville, Ky.; a brother, Donald D. Butler, and wife Sue, of Lenora, N.C.; six grandchildren, Ryan Michael Butler and Jordan Kale Butler, both of Bowling Green, Rebecca Goodman, Adam Goodman and Amanda Bertoglio, all of Baltimore, Md., and Rachael Wiecha of Warsaw, Poland; three great-grandchildren, Ariel, Corrine and Dominic Bertoglio; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday at Milner and Orr Funeral Home of Paducah.
