James Harper

KEVIL, Ky. - James L. Harper, 64, of Kevil passed away at 3:00 p.m. Thursday, February 5, 2009.
He was a member of Bethel Cumberland Presbyterian Church. He retired as an instructor for WKCTC and was a member of Gideons International, Paducah-West Camp. He served his country in the U.S. Army.
He is survived by his wife, Frances (Tharp) Harper; daughters, Almanda "Mandy" Hagans and husband Edwin of Columbia, Vadessa "Dessa" Harper-Carson and husband Jason of Kirksey; son, Clay Harper and wife Carla of Cunningham; sister, Wanda Lee Hurt of Kevil; and grandchildren, Adin Hagans, Elle Carson and Ethan Carson.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Bonnie (Shepherd) Harper.
Funeral services for Mr. Harper will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, February 9, 2009, at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah with the Revs. Paul Tucker and Larry Mulberry officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens in Paducah.
Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. today, February 8, 2009, at the funeral home.
