James "J.D." Cruce, 77, of Paducah went to be with his Lord and Savior at 3:05am on Sunday, May 13, 2018 at Baptist Health Paducah with his daughter by his side.
Mr. Cruce was a graduate of Lone Oak High School and retired from Canadian Railroad. He was a faithful member of Heartland Church of Paducah where he sang in the church choir and on the worship team. He had a love for southern gospel music.
He was a faithful man of God and will be missed by all who knew him.
Surviving is his daughter, Julie (Fabio) Da Silva of Brazil; three grandchildren, Jessey Cruce Da Silva, Jaydan Cruce Da Silva, and Jonah Cruce Da Silva all of Brazil; and one brother, Richard Cruce of Atlanta; one nephew, Chris Travis of Indiana; and many brothers and sisters in Christ.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 48 years, Rocele Cruce; one son, Michael Cruce; daughter-in-law, Monica "Dee" Cruce; and two grandsons, Joshua Michael Cruce and Stephen Caleb Cruce. His parents were Wilmer and Lucile Cruce.
Funeral service will be at 1:00pm on Wednesday, May 16, 2018 at Lindsey Funeral Home with Dr. Nathan Joyce and Dr. Dax Hughes officiating. Entombment will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.
Friends may visit the family from 10:00am to service hour on Wednesday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made in his honor to Heartland Church at 4777 Alben Barkley Dr. Paducah, KY 42001.
