Jimmy Walker

Jimmy Walker, age 80, of Paducah, KY passed away on Monday, July 2, 2019 at Mercy Health-Lourdes Hospital.

Jimmy was born in Paducah, KY on November 14, 1938 to the late Floyd and Alice Walker. He was a Master Electrician and owner of the former J&J Electric and current Jim Walker Electric, Inc. Jimmy loved being an electrician and enjoyed helping others through his profession. He was a member of Park Avenue Baptist Church and liked to fish. He was a great country cook who enjoyed entertaining his family every Monday night for Spaghetti Supper. He loved his daughters, adored his grandchildren and cherished his four dogs.

Jimmy will be remembered by those who loved him as a stern, but gentle man, someone who was kind and compassionate, while also being colorful and funny. He treated people fairly and the way they should be treated and never met a stranger. He was a tough, hardworking man who would work circles around anyone else.

Jimmy is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Geneva Carmen Walker; his two cherished daughters, Jamie Milby and husband, Tim, of Paducah and Julie Almon and fiance, Wesley, of Paducah; one brother, Billy Jean Walker and wife, Janet, of Fairdealing; his identical twin sister-in-law, Wilma Sheppard of Paducah; seven grandchildren, Brett Walker (Amber), Alex Almon, Shelby Almon, Blake Milby, Gracie Almon, Bryce Milby, and Walker Maddux Almon; and one great-grandson, Xander Paul Almon.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one granddaughter, Chaney Brooke Almon.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, July 6, 2019 at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah with Rev. Lynn McWherter officiating. Entombment will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Friday, July 5, 2019 at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah. Visitation will also be held from 12:00 pm until the 2:00 pm service time on Saturday, July 6, 2019 at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah.
