John Holland Jr

February 24, 1926 — September 22, 2010

John Holland Jr., 84, of Paducah died at 6:55 p.m. Wednesday at Parkview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Paducah.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah with the Rev. Raymond Conner officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Holland was a paratrooper in the U.S. Army during World War II and a member of House of Prayer Pentecostal Church in Paducah. He was retired from Bud Company in Gary, Ind.

He is survived by his wife of 15 years, Wanda L. Holland; seven daughters, Tracy Holland, Murlene Picka, Vanessa Hornak, Pat Mack and Janice Mack, all of Paducah, Omega Lazur of Lake Station, Ind., and Penny Bell of Nashville, Tenn.; three sons, Wesley Holland and Steve Carter, both of Paducah, and Wendell Holland of Hobart, Ind.; five sisters, Marjorie Puckett, Sue Thatcher, Mary Stillwell, Rachel Williams and Gladys Waldrop, all of Marshall County; three brothers, Marvin Holland of Benton, Charles Holland of Cambridge Shores, and Eddie Holland of Ann Arbor, Mich.; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Elta Reed Holland; parents, John Holland Sr. and Maggie Ham Holland; stepmother, Bernice Holland; two brothers; two sisters; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
