John Lynn Steger, 87, of Symsonia, KY, passed away at his home at 1:30 pm Sunday, July 5, 2015. He was a self employed Building Contractor for over 50 years. He had built over 300 homes, before he stopped counting them.
John was born in McCracken County, KY on April 22, 1928 to William and Pearl Steger. He was a member of Southland Baptist Temple for 50 years. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and made numerous trips to Canada for that very purpose.
He is survived by his daughters, Janet Haynes and husband Jan T., of Paducah, KY, Debi Whitcomb and husband John, of Birmingham, AL; his son, Neal Gore and wife Maureen, of Paducah, KY: 10 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; and seven great great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, Mildred Lucille Alton Steger; his parents, William McKinley Steger and Pearl Henson Steger; his sister, Elizabeth Steger; his brothers, Paul and Earl Steger.
Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 am Wednesday, July 8, 2015 at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah. Rev. Joe Beal and Rev. Topper Council will officiate. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be held from 9:00-11:00 am Wednesday, July 8, 2015 at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah.
