John Watters, 89, of Lovelaceville, passed away on August 14, 2019 at The Georgian Lakeside in Roswell, GA.
John was a member of Lovelaceville Baptist Church and Woodmen of the World. He was a retired inspector for McDonnell Douglas and Boeing in St. Louis before moving back to Lovelaceville, which he always considered his home. John’s joy in life was tending to his garden, where he grew vegetables to give to friends and family.
He is survived by his two daughters, Debra Rhea Watters Raines and husband, Jerry of Lovelaceville and Lisa Runell Watters Williams and husband, Ted of Roswell, GA; sister, Mary Lou Watters Woodford of Elizabethtown, KY; seven grandchildren, Jeremy Lee Raines, Angela Raines Isaac, Margaret Williams, Robert Williams, Emma Williams, Julian Williams, and Jada Williams; five great-grandchildren, Lucy Raines, Emily Raines, Jack Raines, Lincoln Isaac, and Evelyn Williams; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy McGowan Watters; parents, Edward Watters and Lillie Mae Yarbrough Watters; two sisters, Betty Watters Eales, Naoma Watters Castleman; two brothers, James Edward Watters and Eddie Gene Watters; niece Patricia Redford, and nephews, Randy Castleman and Eddy Ray Watters.
Funeral services for John will be held at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, August 21, 2019 at the Lone Oak Chapel of Milner & Orr Funeral Home with Rev. Jeff Wallace officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be held from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm on Wednesday, August 21, 2019 at the Lone Oak Chapel of Milner & Orr Funeral Home.
