He enjoyed travel and saw the country with his wife, Carolyn, in their motorhome. After she died, he expanded that travel to the world including France, Greece, Australia, Russia, as well as many other locations. He traveled back to Normandy for both the 50th and 60th anniversaries of D-Day. His last and most memorable trip, was to take his granddaughter, Elley, to Israel and Jordan where they walked where Jesus walked and were baptized in the Jordan River.

Throughout his life he has been a constant provider and major support for his family and friends. His quick wit and steady influence were a source of inspiration for his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
