Judge Goebel Long Jr., 87, of Paducah passed away at 11:17 AM on Wednesday, February 28, 2018 at Lourdes Hospital in Paducah.
Mr. Long was a Riverboat Captain for 58 years for multiple companies, a Veteran of the Navy during the Korean War and a member of Southland Baptist Temple in Paducah.
He is survived by his wife, Odetta L. Teitloff Long of Paducah; one son, Doug Long of Paducah; one daughter, Vickie Martin and husband Mark of Paducah; four step-children, Gene Hughes, Dennis Hughes, Rita Lichtenberg, Venita Wilson; 4 grandchildren, Aaron Long, Laken Long, Adam Martin, Alex Martin; 8 great grandchildren; 5 step grandchildren; 5 step great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Betty Fay (Hardin) Long; parents, Judge Goebel Long, Sr. and Jessie (Poindexter) Long; and two sisters.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, March 3, 2018 at Hughes Funeral Home of Paducah with Rev. Jimmy Franks, Rev. Wayne Carter and Rev. Charles Sexton officiating. Burial with Military Honors will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens in Paducah.
Visitation will be held from 12:00 PM to service time on Saturday at the funeral home.
