June Thompson

June Thompson, 80, of Paducah, KY passed away at 9:15 p.m. Monday, August 11, 2014 at Lourdes Hospital. June was a homemaker and formerly worked for the Paducah Credit Bureau. She was a faithful member of the Gospel Mission Worship Center where she was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary. June provided food for Vacation Bible School at Gospel Mission for 49 years, she prepared nursing home baskets, fixed and organized bereavement meals for families of the church. June enjoyed cooking, sewing, gardening, spending time with her grandchildren and having tea parties with them.

She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Gene Thompson of Paducah, KY; daughter, Lisa Thompson Nichols and husband Greg of St. Louis, MO; sisters, Loretta "Tubby" Whitis of Paducah, KY and Linda "Petey" Mueller of Paducah, KY; grandchildren, Jordan Nichols, Paige Nichols and Ally Nichols all of St. Louis, MO; great grandson, Sawyer Nichols of St. Louis, MO and several nieces and nephews.

June was preceded in death by two brothers, Bobby Peyton and Don Peyton. Her parents were E. O. Peyton and Emma Jake Thompson Peyton.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 15, 2014 at the Gospel Mission Worship Center with Rev. Jim Wright and Rev. Jim Greenwell officiating. Burial will follow in the Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Thursday, August 14, 2014 at the Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah and after 10:00 a.m. Friday, August 15, 2014 at the Gospel Mission Worship Center.
