Kimberly Jean Keeling Shannon, 49, of Paducah, passed away, Friday, January 1, 2016, 7:00pm, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee.
Kimberly was a member of Washington Street Missionary Baptist Church where she was a Team Kids Coordinator and served on the Hospitality committee. She was a US Army Veteran, after having served for 25 years and in Desert Storm, a graduate of Paducah Tilghman High School and West Kentucky Vocational School where she was certified in business management. She was also formerly employed with the United States Enrichment Corporation for 23 years, serving as a procurement analyst and with Fluor-Federal Services, Inc. as an inventory specialist for the Fluor Paducah Deactivation Project.
She is survived by her husband, David L. Shannon, Sr. of Paducah; three daughters, Maegan LaShea Keeling of Louisville, Whittney Sherrrill Shannon of Lithonia, GA and Tahlia Jones of Miami, FL; two sons, Andrew Lavon Shannon and David Lavon Shannon, Jr., both of Paducah; her parents, Shelley Eugene Keeling, Sr. and Theodosia White Keeling, both of Paducah; nine grandchildren; two brothers, Shelley Keeling, Jr. of Acworth, GA and Terry Huddle of LaPine, OR; two sisters, Rocia Keeling and Michelle Keeling, both of Paducah; her mother-in-law, Martha Shannon of Brookport, IL; several aunts, uncles, fifteen nieces and nephews, and many cousins.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Gus and Dolores White; paternal grandparents, Joseph and Elizabeth Keeling and her father-in-law, David Leotha Shannon.
Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, January 9, 2016, 12:00 Noon at Washington Street Missionary Baptist Church with Reverend Raynarldo Henderson officiating. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.
Friends may also call at the church on Saturday from 11:00 am until the funeral hour.
