Larry Dowell

Larry Dowell, age 80, of Paducah, Kentucky passed away at 12:09 a.m. Sunday, February 18, 2024 at Baptist Health Paducah.

Larry was of the Baptist faith and a graduate of Lone Oak High School. He was born on September 21, 1943, to the late Jules and Lucille Ellis Dowell. Larry was a member of the Pipefitters Local 184 and was a Superintendent of Construction Company for many years. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force. Larry enjoyed NASCAR, fishing, camping, and playing cards.

Survivors include two sons, David (Melissa) Dowell and Danny (Dawn) Dowell both of Paducah; one sister, Pat (Buddy) Travis, Dresden, TN; brother-in-law-, Perry (Joyce) Vaughn, Paducah; six grandchildren, Jenna Dowell (Fiancé’, Tre Baker), Austin (Jenny) Dowell, Evan Dowell, Macie Dowell, Kristyn (Lyndell) Pennebaker and Kyle Speer; two great-grandchildren, Dawson Dowell and Riley Carpenter; several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Susan Kay Vaughn Dowell, his parents, one daughter, Jennifer Dowell, and one brother, Gary Dowell.

Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 21, 2024, at the Lone Oak Chapel of Milner & Orr Funeral Home with Rev. Buddy Travis officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens with Air Force Military honors.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 21, 2024 from 11:00 a.m. until service time of 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
