Leonard Finke, 86, of Paducah, Kentucky passed away at 1:02 a.m. Monday, March 06, 2017 at Southgate Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Metropolis, Illinois. He was born in Massac County, Illinois. Leonard was a Civil Engineer for the state of Illinois for many years and retired from Hunter Martin & Associates.
He was a member of Heartland Worship Center and served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. Leonard was a member of the American Legion for 68 years.
He is survived by his wife, Pearl Helm Finke of Paducah, Kentucky; daughter, Linda Yewell and husband Gary of Boaz, Kentucky; four sons, David Finke and wife Ronda of West Paducah, Kentucky, John Finke and wife Julie of Paducah, Kentucky, Daniel Finke and wife Karen of Metropolis, Illinois and Glenn Finke and wife Leslie of Paducah, Kentucky; nine grandchildren, Brandon Finke, Adam Finke, Christina Blevins, Joseph Finke, Paul Spann, Erin Northington, Rachel Finke, Candice Stimsom and Caitlin Yewell; one great grandchild, Brayden Finke.
Leonard was preceded in death by his brother, Sherman Finke. His parents were August E. Finke and Marie Dora Foss Finke.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, March 9, 2017 at Lone Oak Chapel of Milner & Orr Funeral Home and Cremation Services with Rev. Nathan Joyce officiating. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m Wednesday, March 8, 2017 at the funeral home.
