Leonard Till

August 29, 1934 — June 29, 2009

L.A. Till "Porkchop or Mr. Santa Claus", passed away Monday June 29, 2009 at 12:15 PM at the Lourdes hospital.
Mr. Till was a native of Orangeburg, South Carolina. He was retired from SKW Alloys as a Shipping Supervisor and was also the owner and operator of T&T Construction Company. Mr. Till was a very active member of the Southland Baptist Temple where he served in the bus ministry for 42 years, and also served as an usher. The children and adults of Paducah will remember his loving smile and red cheeks as he played Santa Claus for over 40 years for many, in the malls and private parties.
He leaves behind his wife Edith Clarke Till of Reidland; one son, Jacob Till and wife, Stacie of Paducah; one stepson, Richard "Dick" Coleman and wife, Gina of Chandler, Arizona; one stepdaughter, Diane Mancillas of Colorado Springs, Colorado. Three brothers, Lester Till and Morris Till, both of Orangeburg, S.C. and Jimmy Aimar of Bowman, S.C. Two sisters, Ruth Freda Davis and Linda Webber, both of Orangeburg. Three grandchildren, Taylor Till, Kallie Till, Jameson Till, all of Paducah. Eight step-grandchildren, Greg West, Amy Martinson, Bubba Mancillas, Tyler Mancillas, Scott Coleman, Michael Coleman, Rick Coleman, Paige Coleman. Several Step Great-Grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his Father, Boyce Till; and mother and stepfather, Jessie Fersner Aimar and Lewis Aimar.
Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 PM Friday at the Southland Baptist Temple with the Revs. Harold Council, Jimmy Franks, and Topper Council officiating. Burial will follow in the Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.
Friends may visit with the family from 11:00 AM till funeral hour at Southland Baptist Temple.
