Lewis Hurst, 86, of Paducah, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, February 4, 2017.
Mr. Hurst was a veteran of the Korean War where he served in the United States Army. He was a member, trustee and deacon of Trinity Baptist Church. He worked in the river industry for over 30 years, loved woodworking and loved his family.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Anne LaRece Wilson Hurst; one daughter, Kathy Rorer and husband Ronnie of Paducah; one son, Brent Hurst and wife Pam of Calvert City; one sister, Florence Flatt of Paducah; five grandchildren, Josh Rorer and wife Amanda, and Madelyn Rorer of Paducah, Daniel Hurst and Katie Hurst of Calvert City, and Amber Nagy and husband Mike of Vienna, IL; and two great-grandchildren, Aloni Nagy and Baileigh Nagy of Vienna, IL.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James Clifford Hurst and Florence Jewell Jackson Hurst. He was also preceded in death by five brothers, James, Richard, Billy Joe, Deward and Leslie.
Services will be held at 3pm Monday, February 6, 2017 at Milner & Orr Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Paducah with Dr. Kenneth Brown officiating. Visitation will begin at 1:30pm Monday at the funeral home.
A private graveside service with military rites was conducted earlier in the day at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens with Dr. E. Lee James officiating.
