Lex Kilgore

STEELEVILLE - Lex A. Kilgore, 87, of Steeleville, passed away at 10:15 pm, Friday, June 13, 2014 at the Memorial Hospital in Chester.

Lex was born in Charleston, Missouri on November 13, 1926, the son of Ruben Scott and Estelle Smith Kilgore. He married Rose Mary Holley in the summer of 1958 in Brookport, Illinois. She preceded him in death in 1988. He was a retired grocery store operator. Lex was a veteran of the US Navy, having served during WWII. He was a member of the Steeleville Baptist Church and the B.B.K. American Legion Post #480, Steeleville.

Lex is survived by a son, James Scott Kilgore of Steeleville; a daughter, Holley Ann Cagle of Steeleville; a step son, Ron Fondaw of Burnsville, NC; 11 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.

Lex was also preceded in death by his Parents; two sister, Marola Bury and France Fuhrman; and a step son, William Michael Fondaw.

Graveside service will be held on 12:00 PM, Tuesday, June 17, 2014 at Woodlawn Memorial Garden in Lone Oak, Kentucky with Rev. Richard Newcom officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Garden. Visitation will be at Wilson's Funeral Home, Steeleville, where friends may call from 5 pm until 8 pm Monday. Memorials may be given to the Activity Fund at Manor at Craig Farm.
