Services for Lois P Morris will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Broadway United Methodist Church with Rev. James Bolen officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Garden.
Mrs. Morris, 86, died at 5:55 a.m. Tuesday at her residence.
She was native of Chehaw, Alabama, where she received her early education and completed her studies after moving to Paducah.
She was a member of St. John African Methodist Episcopal Church, a certified nursing assistant at Riverside and Western Baptist Hospital, a member of the Mattie Ragsdale Missionary Society, Church Women United, Crime Stoppers, Homemakers, President of Rowlandtown Neighborhood Watch, DAV and volunteer for the Quilt Museum.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Morris; and one son, Willie Morris. Her parents were Collin and Marthenia Powell.
Surviving are four sons, Henry Morris of Orange Park, Fla., James Morris of Colorado Springs, Colorado, William Morris and Tony Murff both of Chicago, Il., eleven daughters, Rosa Moss of Louisville, Ky., Helen Norris of Decatur, Ga., Elizabeth Morris of Lexington, Ky., Delores McSparin of Selma, Tx. Marilyn Hawkins and Sarah Foreman, both of Galatin, Tn., Barbara Drain of Paducah, Ky., Lucille Billingsley of Ellenwood, Ga., Marthenia Morris and Mattie Morris, both of Paducah, Ky. and Gladys K Morris of Nashville, Tn., one sister, Ruth Bullock of Tuskegee Institute, Al, forty two grandchildren; seventy-five great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren.
Friends may call from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m Friday at Mundy Funeral Home, and from 11 a.m. until the funeral hour at the church on Saturday.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. John AME Church, 1300 Atkins Avenue, Paducah, Ky. 42001.
