Margaret Barriger

Margaret Barriger, 87 of Lexington, KY and formerly of Paducah, KY passed away Thursday, November 16, 2017 after a brief illness. Margaret was born to the late Terrell & Margarete Stanley Johnson in Paducah, KY. She was an active member of Lone Oak First Baptist Church from 1937 until she moved to Lexington in 2011. She was a graduate of Lone Oak High School in 1948. Margaret was a former member of Rolling Hills Country Club and the ladies golf league where she served as former president. She was a fabulous seamstress and had a home business where she fashioned tailored clothing for many people in the Paducah area. Margaret was also an artist and created beautiful watercolor paintings and flower arrangements. Margaret was a devoted wife of 63 years, mother, and grandmother who truly enjoyed time spent with family.

Survivors include two daughters, Jenny (Michael) Doane of Lexington, KY and Lisa (Scott) Dreher of Nashville, TN; one sister Becky (Paul) Jett of Southern Pines, NC; two grandchildren, Stacey Chestnut and Justin Dreher, nine great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Preceding in death was her husband Cloyd P. Barriger, parents and one sister, Barbara Davis.

Services will be held, Saturday, November 25, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at the Lone Oak Chapel Milner & Orr Funeral Home with Dr. Dan Summerlin officiating. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m until service time of 1:00 p.m. Saturday, November 25, 2017 at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.
