Mary Horner Cossiboom, known by many as “Chee-Chee” age 81, of Lone Oak passed away Wednesday, December 18, 2019 at Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville, TN. Mary was a long time member of Lone Oak First Baptist Church. Mary had a passion for writing poetry for family and friends whether it was for sad times or for the happy times. At times it may be just a “thinking of you” card and inside was a poem or a bookmark. She was very active in supporting her son’s ministry of music to the armed forces, and was his number one prayer warrior.
Survivors include her husband, Wesley “Wes” Cossiboom, one son, Eric Horner and wife, Debby of Nashville, TN; step-son, Jeff Cossiboom and wife Becky of Paducah; special daughter, Tammi Scarbrough, Paducah; one grandson, Richard Horner and wife, Lisa of Nashville, TN; three great-grandchildren, Matthew, Emily and Savannah Horner; grand-daughters, Leslie Doss and Emily Cossiboom; one step-great grandson, Connor Doss; several nieces and nephews.
Preceding in death was her parents, Harold Brodie Gorham & Cornelia Elizabeth Hicks Gorham; two sisters, Anna Finley and Letha Dycus.
Services will be held Sunday, December 22, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at the Lone Oak First Baptist Church with Revs. Bob Martin and Stan Reid officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held Saturday, December 21, 2019 from 3:00-8:00 p.m. at the Lone Oak Chapel of Milner & Orr Funeral Home.
