Mary Meadows

Mary F. Meadows, age 91 of Paducah, KY and a native of Eddyville, KY died at 9:45 p.m. Monday, November 16, 2015 at Superior Care Home. Mary was a member of Margaret Hank Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
Mary's life was full of teaching, working, nursing and a feeder aid and found enjoyment in all of it. Mary's early work ethic began in Evansville, IN working at factory that produced ammunition and war supplies and became known as one of the " Rosie the Riveter". She taught at Fungo School, was secretary to the Superintendent of Lyon County Schools and was a nursery worker at Margaret Hank Cumberland Presbyterian Church for many years. She was a Secretary at Dixie Highway Express, an Accountant at Heil Beauty Supply, and worked at K-Mart in the shoe department. Mary's later years, even at 85 years old, was spent at Superior Care where she fed those that could not feed themselves daily, was a restortative aid at Superior Care and even did private setting. During her stay at Morningside Assisted Living, she participated in all of the daily activities. Mary's face lit up when grandchildren and great-grandchildren were able to visit her and especially the visits from her Cavalier King Charles grand dogs, Maggie and Miriam.
Survivors include one daughter, Sue Jackson and her companion of many years, Bob Myrick; one granddaughter Tanya Jackson Wilkins and her husband, David, of Tallahassee, FL; one grandson Sean Jackson and his wife, Iris, of Atlanta, GA; five great-grandchildren, Macie Wilkins, Morgan Wilkins, Meagan Wilkins, Alex Jackson, and Marshall Jackson.
Preceding in death were parents, Robert L. & Macie McCarty Holloway; and twin sisters, Jeanie Williamson and Jettie Ferguson.
Services will be held Saturday, November 21, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at the Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah with Dr. Willis Henson officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. Friends may call Friday, November 20, 2015 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah.
