Mildred Hendon, fondly known by friends and family as "Ninnie", age 98 of Paducah died Sunday, March 12, 2023, at Baptist Health in Paducah. She was born the daughter of the late Robert Clark, and the late Alva Smith Clark. She retired from the Lone Oak School District and shortly thereafter began a second career at the Small Friends Daycare, where she provided loving care to many children of the community for over twenty years. She enjoyed being a part of the Tuesday Lunch Bunch, she was an avid reader and loved to work word search puzzles. She was a Kentucky Colonel. She was also a charter member of Faith Missionary Baptist Church in Paducah.
Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 15, 2023 at Faith Missionary Baptist Church located at 5321 Blandville Rd., Paducah, KY. with Pastor Harold Draper officiating. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Tuesday, March 14, 2023 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the church, and Wednesday, March 15, 2023 from 11:00 a.m. until the funeral hour at the church. Keeling & Goodman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
She is survived by her son: Randy Hendon (Melba) of Paducah; her daughter: Sheila Denton (Jimmy) of Paducah; her grandchildren: Renee McDermott (Shawn), Justin Denton (Shelley), Shane Hendon (Robin), and Christie Fierro; and her great grandchildren: Banks Denton, Kaylee Wilson, Gabe Hendon, Ansley Hendon, and Mackenzie Fierro.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: Harlan L. Hendon; her brother: Dennis Clark; and her sister: Betty Cooper.
The family would like to offer a special word of appreciation for the selfless care provided by her daughter, Shelia, and son-in-law, Jimmy, who welcomed Ninnie into their home as she advanced in age.
