Nancy Jane Gill, 63, of West Paducah, Kentucky, passed into the Lord’s arms Sunday, Oct. 28, at Parkview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center following a long battle with cancer.
Nancy was born to the late Horace and Ruby Piper Gill on April 11, 1955 in Clinton, KY, and delivered by the late UK Basketball physician, Dr. Jackson. His nurse said that Nancy was the prettiest baby she had ever seen.
Nancy is survived by her companion, Wayne Gibby of West Paducah, KY; a sister, Mary Ellen (Ken) Kelley of West Paducah; an aunt, Lue Spencer of Paducah; two sisters-in-law: Judy Halteman Gill of Gage, KY, and Cynthia Terry Gill of Paducah; two nieces: Lana Kelley (Tony) Estes, of West Paducah, and Amanda Gill, of Lexington, KY; two nephews: Brad (Sheri) Kelley of Independence, MO, and Jordan (Monica) Gill of Clyde, NC; a great-nephew, Duncan Kelley; and a great-niece, Ruby Kelley, plus numerous cousins.
Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, Horace and Ruby Piper Gill; two brothers: Joey Dan Gill, and Byron Gill, both of Gage, KY.
Nancy was employed at one time with Sears, Roebuck and Company as an electronic technician. She later owned and operated Nancy’s Country Notions where she painted and sold ceramics and silk flower arrangements. Nancy was a member of Maxon Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in West Paducah, where she also taught Sunday School and enjoyed hosting parties for the youth. Through the years she sang special music there with her beautiful voice.
Services will be Thursday, November 1, at 2 p.m. at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah with Rev. Billy Weaver and Rev. Tony Estes officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be from noon until time of service Thursday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers expressions of sympathy may be sent to Maxon Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), P. O. Box 249, West Paducah, KY 42086.
