Nancy Lou Coleman Massey went to her heavenly home on Friday August 4, 2017 at 7:00 p.m. Nancy was born in her hometown of Palmyra, Indiana on September 11, 1932 to William H. and Georgia C. (McCutchen) Coleman. In her early life she enjoyed sewing, cooking, helping raise her brothers and sisters, riding bicycles, skating, school sports events and community events.
In 1958 she married her sweetheart Harold L. "Buddy" Massey. Former residents of Floyds Knobs, Indiana, they moved to Paducah in 1965 and raised their three children Rocky, Karen and Rebecca.
Nancy was a dedicated and hard worker. She worked as an Assistant Director of Personnel at Western Baptist Hospital for most of her career. She moved with her husband for a few years after her children were grown to East Patchogue Long Island returning to Paducah in 1986 and retired from the Internal Revenue Service. She was a devoted member of the Lone Oak Church of Christ.
She had a tremendous love for her family and dedicated her life to them by bringing them all up to know the love of our Lord and Savior. She was very proud of her family and excited to be a Nana to her six grand-children and twelve great grandchildren. Nancy loved holidays and family get-to-gethers; any chance to spend time with her family was important to her. She would spend hours cooking and preparing for her guests. She was known for her beautiful smile and her feisty sense of humor.
Nancy is survived by her husband, Harold L. "Buddy" Massey; three children: Robert B. "Rocky" and wife Lenor of Paducah, Kentucky, Karen A. Phillips and husband Rance of Brookport, Illinois, Rebecca J. Powell and husband Chris of New Salisbury, Indiana; six grandchildren: Rachel A. Massey of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Justin C. Massey and Gail of Paducah, Kentucky, Tarah L. Gower and Ricky of Mill Springs, Illinois, Ashley M. McKendree and Jason of Brookport, Illinois, Kristen N. Guthrie and Steven of Depauw, Indiana, and Laken M. Coughenour of New Salisbury, Indiana; and twelve great-grandchildren.
