Onie Gardner

Onie Irene Gardner, 95, of Hickory, died Friday at Baptist Health Paducah.

Onie was born in Carlisle County on April 23, 1919 to the late Buren and Leah Pease Gardner. She worked for thirty-two years for Merit Clothing Company in Mayfield and retired after one year of employment with the Shirt Factory in Martin, Tn. She was a long time member of Liberty Baptist Church.

She is survived by her sister, Bertha Gardner of Folsomdale; nephew, Leon McGary of Paducah; great nephews, Kevin McGary of Lowes, Kent McGary of Nashville and Bruce McGary of Mason, OH; and two great-great nephews.

Preceding her in death were a sister, Reba Gardner; two brothers, Eldon and Horace Gardner; and a nephew, James McGary.

Funeral services will be held at 2pm Sunday at Lone Oak Chapel of Milner & Orr Funeral Home with Rev. Wayne Berry officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. Visitation will begin at 11:30 am Sunday at the funeral home.
