Opal Dodd

June 11, 1928 — November 24, 2013

Opal Dodd, 85, of Paducah died Sunday, November 24, 2013, at 7:30 a.m. at her residence.

Opal was a member of Salt & Light Community Church of God. She was a native of Winston County, Ala., and retired from Paducah City Schools, working in the Food Service and served as manager of D.T. Cooper Elementary School. She enjoyed crocheting for the children's ministry at her church and had a keen interest in children and talking to them. She was also a retired beautician.

Survivors include one daughter, Gwenda Alexander and husband Larry; two sons, Max Dodd and wife Brenda, and Mark Dodd and wife Brenda, all of Paducah, Ky.; five grandchildren, Tony Dodd and wife Tina of Calvert City, Ky., Alissa Gannaway and husband Rob of Loveland, Ohio, Dena Alexander of Paducah, Ky., Carrie Alexander of Mount Juliet, Tenn., and Daniel Dodd and wife Gabrielle of Paducah, Ky.; four great-grandchildren, Libby Dodd, Molly Gannaway, Brad Long and wife Christina, Johnathan Long and wife Britney.

A funeral service will be held Wednesday, November 27, 2013, at 11 a.m. at the Lone Oak Chapel Milner & Orr Funeral Home with the Rev. Jim Glover officiating.

Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.

Friends may call on Tuesday, November 26, 2013, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Lone Oak Chapel Milner & Orr Funeral Home.
