Patricia Cownie

Pat Cownie, 70, of Paducah died Sunday, August 15, 2010, at her home.

She was born in Paducah, Kentucky, and was member of First Christian Church. She was a retired medical secretary for the former ear, nose and throat doctors, Dr. Hawkins, Dr. McCracken and Dr. Zellmer in Paducah, now known as Ear, Nose and Throat of West Kentucky. She was a very kind hearted, generous, strong and caring person. She loved her children and grandchildren and loved to travel.

She is survived by her husband, William "Bill" Cownie and eight children, Dale Davis and wife Robin of Paducah, Dana Foerstner of Tampa, Fla., Kenneth Davis of Paducah, Keith Davis of Paducah, Lynne Cownie of Des Moines, Iowa, Beth (Loy) Cownie of Paducah, William "Bill" Cownie II and wife Stacy of Paducah and Sue Ellen Cownie of Paducah. She is also survived by her brother, Earl Herzog and wife Patsy of Paducah; 17 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and four nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Leo and Ruby Roach Herzog; her sister, Mary Jane Pierce; and her first husband, Billy Wayne Davis.

Funeral services were held at noon Monday, August 16, 2010, at First Christian Church with the Rev. Jae Gottman officiating. Burial followed at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.

Visitation was held Monday, August 16, 2010, at the church.

Pat felt blessed to have a wonderful family, wonderful friends and neighbors.
