Paul Kern, age 85, of Paducah, KY died Saturday, November 12, 2016 at Baptist Health Paducah.

Mr. Kern was born Paul Joseph Kirisits in Buffalo, NY. His Father was an immigrant from Austria, upon which he changed his name to Kern.

Mr. Kern was a veteran of the United States Marines Corps and retired as a mechanic from Air Products, where he spent 27 years in the maintenance department. He served as a member of the McCracken County Senior Center and was also a member of Heartland Worship Center.

Mr. Kern is survived by his wife, Wanda Alvey Kern; two sons, Anthony Kern and wife Brelinda Overby of O'Fallon, IL and Joel Kern and wife Missy Wynn of Kevil, KY; one cousin, Albert Jones of Paducah, KY; one sister-in-law, Joyce Kern of St. Peters, MO; four grandchildren, Nathan Kern and wife Christine of Bellville, IL, Evan Kern (USN) and wife Angela of Bremerton, WA, Dani Kern of Lexington, KY and Sam Kern of Kevil, KY; and two great-grandchildren, Madison Kern and Aiden Kern.

Mr. Kern was preceded in death by his parents, John and Mary Wood Kern and one brother, Johnny Kern.

Funeral Services will be at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 17, 2016 at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah with Rev. Nathan Joyce officiating. Entombment with military rights will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 17, 2016 at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of a donation to: The Forward Project (children's ministry building) c/o Heartland Worship Center, 4777 Alben Barkley Dr., Paducah, KY 42001.
