Paul Quertermous

September 24, 1931 — January 26, 2013

Paul E. Quertermous, 81, a native of Pope County, Ill., and resident of Paducah died Saturday at 9:50 p.m., January 26, 2013, at Parkview Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.

Paul was a member of Paducah First Baptist Church where he was a member of the choir, former deacon and served on various church committees. He was a graduate of Pope County High School in 1949, and served on the school board in Pope County, Ill. Paul was a lover of music, having served as choir director, singing in quartets and played many different musical instruments.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Rosalee Phelps Quertermous; two daughters, Connie Lee (Steve) Vincent of Paducah, Ky., and Colette Marie (Rick) Wallace of Tuscola, Ill.; one sister, Alma Jean (Randy) Burton of Eddyville, Ill.; six grandchildren, Angie (Billy) Meadows, Amy (Ricky) Tharp, Denise Blackburn, Mindy (Chris) Fowler, Erica (Ben) Mentock and Renea (Chris) King; 13 great-grandchildren, Kirsten and Brayden Meadows, Sydney, Austin and Katelynn Tharp, Kaylee and Ethan Blackburn, Addyson, Chloe and Logan Fowler, Jaes and Elijah Mentoc, and Amelia King, and several nieces and nephews.

Preceding in death were his parents, Clyde Oliver and Carrie Elizabeth Teitloff Quertermous; one sister, Geradine Howard, and one brother, Russell C. Quertermous.

Services will be held Wednesday, January 30, 2013, at 1 p.m. at the Lone Oak Chapel Milner & Orr Funeral Home located at 3745 Old U.S. Highway 45 South, with Rev. Staley Langham officiating.

Entombment will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.

Friends may call at the Lone Oak Chapel Milner & Orr Funeral Home on Wednesday, January 30, 2013, from 11 a.m. until service time.
