Pauline Palmer

Pauline Palmer, 95, of Paducah, KY, passed away Wednesday, September 3, 2014, at 9:35 am at Baptist Health Paducah. She retired after twenty years with Western Baptist Hospital, serving as a supervisor in the Housekeeping Department.

Pauline was a life-long Paducah resident and member of Immanuel Baptist Church. She survived the Great Depression, the 1937 Paducah Flood, and served as a Defense Worker during WWII at three facilities in Evansville, IN and Berkley, CA. An avid volunteer, she served as room mother, Cub Scout Den Mother, Hospital Auxiliary volunteer and helped many in church activities. At age 55 she ran in many 5K and 10K running events to set the example for employee fitness at Western Baptist Hospital.

She enjoyed her final years at Superior Care Home. Her family and friends appreciated their loving care. She will be deeply missed.

She is survived by her daughter, Ann Carneal and her husband John, of Paducah, KY; her sons, Bruce Palmer and his wife Barbara, of Mt. Juliet, TN and Glenn Palmer and his wife Pamela, of Salt Lake City, UT; five grandchildren; two great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert H. Palmer; Her parents, David Venters and Sara Herron Venters; six sisters and five brothers, including her twin brother Paul.

Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 am Saturday, September 6, 2014 at the Lone Oak Chapel of Milner & Orr Funeral Home. Jamie Broome will officiate. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 pm Friday, September 5, 2014 at the Lone Oak Chapel of Milner & Orr Funeral Home.
