Peggy Alderson Adams, age 76 of Paducah, passed away on Monday, July 9, 2018 at Oakview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Calvert City.
Peggy was born in Paducah on December 30, 1941 to Joseph Vanard and Agnes (Self) Alderson. Her husband, Wallace, was the pastor at several area churches and Peggy can be remembered as being an active and supportive member in each of them. She worked as the Accounting Secretary at Lone Oak High School and also served as co-owner of Metro Specialty Police, where they served the community with courier and armored vehicle services. Peggy had a deep love for sports and always enjoyed cheering on the Lone Oak High School sports teams and the University of Kentucky Wildcats. She lived life to the fullest and her adventurous spirit led her to travel frequently and live abroad, including Germany, where she developed a passion for fast cars and competing in Powder-Puff races.
She is survived by three daughters, Melody Wyatt Walker and husband, Steve, of Sharpe, Terri Wyatt of Paducah and Sami Craine Owens and husband, Dwayne, of Benton; three sisters, Mary Jo Sturm of Corpus Christi, Texas, Betty Sue Fix of Lexington, Kentucky, and Judy Schenker and husband, Micheal, of Atlanta, Georgia; eight grandchildren, Andy Walker, Meranda Goode, Kandra Cope, Erin Freeman, Cody Freeman, Chris Kindlespire, Ashli Poindexter and Dakota Johnson; nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William Wallace Adams, Jr. and her parents.
Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 15, 2018 at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah with Rev. Brad Henson officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 14, 2018 at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah.
