Robert D. Cox, 87, of Paducah passed away on Friday, November 10, 2017 at the Ray and Kay Eckstein Hospice Care Center in Paducah.
Robert was born to Bert and Ida Cox on December 17, 1929 in Elizabethtown, IL. He was a member of Arcadia United Methodist Church.
He was an analytical chemist at Abbott Laboratories in North Chicago, Illinois for 25 years before taking early retirement.
He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Betty (McMaster) Cox of Paducah; and one daughter, Teresa Ann (Roland) Topcik of Carbondale, Illinois.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Bert and Ida Cox; and three sisters.
As per his request there will be no visitation or funeral services.
Private entombment will take place at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.
Expression of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Arcadia United Methodist Church at 261 Lone Oak Rd. Paducah, KY 42001.
