Ronald P. Boudreaux, age 69, of the Saint John's community won his battle with cancer on Tuesday, June 3, 2008, at 3:45 p.m. at Lourdes hospital.
Mr. Boudreaux was born Sept. 18, 1938, in Franklin, La., to Alvin and Marie Boudreaux.
He was a member of St. John Catholic Church and The Knights of Columbus Council 10962, where he was a fourth degree knight. Mr. Boudreaux was Past Grand Knight and Past District Deputy of the Knights of Columbus. The Knights of Columbus had also named November 27 as Ron Boudreaux Day. He was an avid believer in St. Theresa of the Rose. Mr. Boudreaux retired from USEC after 32 years of service and was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. He was also a Duke of Paducah.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Lynda Roddie Boudreaux; one daughter, Rebecca Marie Boudreaux Melton and husband, Michael, of Fort Campbell; two sons, M. Shane Boudreaux and wife, Jennifer, of Benton and Kerry S. Boudreaux and wife, Karen, of Lexington; one brother, Richard Boudreaux of Franklin; and seven grandchildren, Tyler Boudreaux, Haley Boudreaux, Kala Boudreaux, Kelsey Boudreaux, Kate Boudreaux, Hannah Melton and Ella Melton.
Funeral services for Mr. Boudreaux will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 7, 2008, at St. John's Catholic Church with Rev. Bruce McCarty and Rev. Frank Roof officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens with military honors.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, June 6, 2008, at the Lone Oak chapel of Milner & Orr Funeral Home, where prayers will be said at 7.
