Rubye Wood

Rubye Louise Manning Wood, 92, of Paducah, formerly of Cayce, died Thursday, June 13, 2013, at 8:21 a.m. at her home.

Rubye was a retired school teacher with the McCracken County Board of Education. She was a member of the Paducah-McCracken County Retired Teachers Association and the Kentucky Retired Teachers Association. She was also a retired Board of Directors member of the McCracken County Teachers Federal Credit Union.

Survivors include a son, Robert Louis Wood Jr. of Paducah; a daughter, Judy Wood Mills-Murphy of West Chester, Ohio; four grandsons, Ricky Wood of Paducah, Greg Wood of Paducah, Derick Mills of Liberty Township, Ohio, and Alan Murphy of West Chester, Ohio; five great-grandchildren, Ryan, Katrina, and Jacob Wood, all of Paducah, and Jordanne and Colton Mills, both of Liberty Township, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death were her husband, Robert Louis Wood, Sr.; mother, Cora Thompson Smick; her stepfather, Commer Smick; one sister, Mildred Manning Asbell; one half-brother, Almus Stroud; two stepbrothers, Roy and Gene Smick; and one stepsister, Violet Smick Simmerman Bishop.

Family only viewing was held at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens' chapel.
