Ruth J. Dodd

Ruth Jean Dodd, age 92, of Paducah, Kentucky, passed away on Tuesday, January 23, 2024 at the Ray & Kay Eckstein Hospice Care Center.

Ruth was born in Hickman, Kentucky on April 22, 1931 to the late Harvey and Mary Hamilton Bondurant.  She was a member of Central Church of Christ.  Ruth worked as an office administrator for Lone oak Church of Christ for over 15 years.  Her family meant the world to her, and Ruth loved spending time with her sons and taking care of her grandchildren.  She was also very talented at sewing and enjoyed making clothes for her family.  

Ruth is survived by her two sons, David (Rebecca) Dodd of Paducah and Dwayne (Tonya) Dodd of Kevil, Kentucky; five grandchildren, Rachael Lynn Dodd, Audrey Rose Dodd, James Michael Dodd, David Hamilton Dodd, and Brandon Keith Dodd.    

She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, James Y. Dodd; her two sisters, Mary Jane Upton and Margaret Joan Thompson; her brother, Harvey “Buddy” Bondurant; and her parents.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, January 27, 2024 at the Lone Oak Chapel of Milner & Orr with Adam Faughn and Jim Faughn officiating.  Entombment will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm on Friday, January 26, 2024 at the Lone Oak Chapel of Milner & Orr.
