Sue Seelye

Sue Torian Seelye, 82, of Paducah, died Monday, September 28, 2015 at her residence.

Sue was born in Paducah on August 2, 1933 to the late Carl William Torian and Laura Belle Edwards Torian. She was a longtime member of Trinity Baptist Church. Sue retired after 35 years spent as a teacher for McCracken County School System and was a member of McCracken County/Paducah Retired Teacher Association and Kentucky Retired Teacher Association. Sue enjoyed attending auctions, garage sales, and collecting antiques. She was an avid bridge player.

She is survived by her loving family, Gaile Hayes of Paducah, Susan Seelye-Swarting and husband Finn of New Canaan, CT, Arthur Seelye, Jr. of Paducah and Will Seelye of Nashville; three grandchildren, Anna Hayes of Louisville, Bjorn Swarting of New Canaan, CT, and Linnea Swarting of Nashville; two brothers, Carl E. Torian of Paducah and Joe Torian and wife Gina of Paducah; three nieces and four nephews; and a wide group of friends whom she adored.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Art L. Seelye, Sr.; one niece; one nephew; and her parents.

Funeral services will be held at 1pm Monday, October 5, 2015 at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah with Rev. Jamie Broome officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. Visitation will begin at 11am Monday at the funeral home.
